          Attorney James Monsebroten has been engaged in the private practice of law in Coos Bay, Oregon since 2005. He a trial attorney in civil litigation and criminal defense cases. Attorney Monsebroten represents clients in depositions, motion hearings, jury selection, opening statements, direct examination, cross-examination and closing arguments. Mr. Monsebroten has presented case in jury trials, trials to judges, arbitrations, administrative law hearings and appeals to the Oregon Court of Appeals. Most cases involve drafting civil pleadings, responses, motions, orders, judgments, and memorandum of law. Mr. Monsebroten counsels and advises clients in divorce/custody matters, civil cases (personal injury, wrongful death, tort claims), criminal cases, business formation, business purchase/sale agreements, negotiations, wills and estates.
         Mr. Monsebroten has 6 years of trial experience as a prosecutor accross the state of Oregon. He was a deputy district attorney Baker County, Deschutes County and Coos County between 1998 and 2004.
         Attorney James Monsebroten completed his Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) at
Willamette University College of Law in May 1997. Prior to attending law shool Mr. Monsebroten completed two degrees at Lewis & Clark College in June 1991; obtaining a bachelor of arts (BA) in International Affairs and a bachelor of arts (BA) in German.
